Food & Cocktail Photography at Mark’s Prime Steakhouse in Ocala

Written by

A great restaurant photograph makes you pause: the color of a ripe tomato, the texture of a seared entrée, the light catching a freshly poured cocktail. For our recent food photography shoot in Ocala, MAVEN Photo + Film returned to Mark’s Prime Steakhouse to photograph dishes and drinks for its 2026 menu update.

The collection brings together detailed food portraits and compositions that include the restaurant’s setting. White linens, warm leather booths, flowers, and glassware give the images a sense of place. The food remains the focus, while the surroundings help tell the story of a night at Mark’s Prime.

Food photography that brings the menu into focus

Each plate gives us something different to work with. Red and yellow tomatoes create a bright contrast around creamy burrata. A golden entrée and asparagus bring texture and height to the frame. A seafood presentation offers a quieter combination of color, sauce, and delicate garnish.

We photographed both close details and wider table scenes. Close views draw attention to the care that goes into a dish; wider photographs connect that dish to the dining experience. Together, they give a restaurant more ways to introduce its menu than a series of identical crops.

Food styling and photography working together

Food stylist Robin Fannin joined us for the shoot. Styling and photography work hand in hand: the arrangement on a plate, the angle of the camera, and the light all shape what a viewer notices first.

Our approach was to keep the details inviting and clear while giving each composition room to breathe. The contrast between the dark plates and white tablecloths helps the food stand out. Flowers and glassware provide context without taking attention away from the dish.

Cocktail photography with the atmosphere of the bar

The cocktail collection shifts the setting from the dining table to the bar. Warm background light, reflective surfaces, and carefully placed garnishes give these images their own character while keeping them connected to the food photographs.

In the green cocktail shown here, cucumber ribbons and fresh herbs provide shape and color. The wider composition includes the bar’s glow and a floral arrangement, creating an image that feels like part of an evening out. It is a useful complement to the tighter food details throughout the collection.

A coordinated collection for restaurant marketing

A menu update is an opportunity to refresh the way a restaurant presents itself across its website, social media, and promotional materials. A coordinated photo collection gives the team a consistent visual starting point, with enough variety to feature individual dishes and drinks over time.

For restaurant owners planning a shoot, it helps to think about those uses before the first plate reaches the camera. A website banner needs a different composition from a vertical social post. Planning for both detail and context makes the resulting collection more flexible.
